During this advent season, we, Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books and team, offer you a unique opportunity to experience extraordinary examples of medieval book art up close. We will be opening the doors of our gallery in the heart of Basel for a truly special exhibition of our collection. This year's highlights include the Liechtenstein Tacuinum Sanitatis, a medieval health guide with 130 illustrations offering insights into everyday life, and the Wedding Hours, a tiny prayer book made as a gift for Bianca Maria Sforza on the occasion of her marriage to Emperor Elect Maximilian I.
Our medieval manuscripts are among the most outstanding examples of medieval book art. They are unique treasures rarely seen outside national collections and impressive private libraries.
