Illuminated by a Poitevin miniaturist, now dubbed the Master of Radegund, this is a beatiful, moving work of art with a royal provenance. Made for King Charles VIII and his wife, Anne of Brittany, the Life of St. Radegund documents the journey of a saint through womanhood in medieval France. Dr. Erin Donovan here explains the significance of this magnificent manuscript.
