The Fauquier Book of Hours only recently resurfaced after having disappeared from the public eye for more than half a century. Two artists painted this manuscript’s thirteen beautiful, colourful miniatures that glisten with gold – which gives evidence of a fascinating collaboration between two itinerant artists. This gorgeous prayer book was a commission for a gentleman living in the diocese of Besançon, likely a member of the family Fauquier of Poligny.
