The Royal Library in The Hague recently acquired from us the Nassau-Vianden Armorial (c. 1485-1495), which was presented to the public at a conference devoted to heraldry and historiography on 22 September 2017. This is the oldest known armorial of the Nassau family. It was made by Herald of Nassau-Vianden in the service of Count Engelbrecht II of Nassau (1451-1504). The count was an important patron of illuminated manuscripts.
A week earlier the book was the focal point of a presentation in the Grote Kerk at Breda where the monumental Nassau tombs provided a perfect historical context.
