Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books returns to TEFAF in Maastricht with a magnificent lineup of illuminated manuscripts and rare miniatures. We are happy to welcome you during the early access days on March 13-14, and during the public fair from March 15-20.
The centerpiece of this year's selection is the Roman d'Alexandre en prose, made between 1290 and 1300. This extremely rare manuscript is causing a wave of enthusiasm among historians and transports us into the epic tale of the legendary hero Alexander the Great. In addition, we are displaying the astonishing Spitzer Hours, which offers an unrivalled view of the art of sixteenth century Flemish book illumination - a coveted masterpiece, cherished by prolific collectors thoughout its history. We will also present The Hachette Hours, made in 1508-1512 for the future French queen Claude de France: a tiny, gilded prayerbook that amazes its observers. .
We are thrilled to show you these highlights in person at stand 114 at TEFAF Maastricht.
