As early as his adolescent years, Jörn Günther discovered his passion for medieval books and began his collection. Since this formative period, nothing has fascinated him more than the world of book art. He therefore combined art history, history and Germanic studies into his dissertation at the University of Hamburg, cataloguing, for the very first time, all of the illustrated Middle High German manuscripts of the World Chronicle. In 1990, Jörn Günther opened his first Antiquarian book shop in Hamburg. With his forty years of experience and his extensive knowledge, he is often described as one of the world’s leading experts in his fields.
