Ein eindrucksvolles Merkmal dieser Handschrift ist der üppige Gebrauch von Muschelgold, sowohl für Rahmen, Bordüren und Goldhöhungen als auch für ganze Miniaturen, die in der Technik des camaïeu d'or ausgeführt wurden. Darüberhinaus begegnen wir einigen Darstellungen mit sehr seltener und ungewöhnlicher Ikonographie sowie einem anspruchsvollen Erzählkonzept, das in allen Bildtypen in dieser Handschrift durchgehend verfolgt wird.
